Fiestas Tradicionales de Todos Santos

Today is the first day of the “Fiestas Tradicionales de Todos Santos” commemorating the founding of our mision “Nuestra Señora del Pilar.” It is also the 10 year anniversary of our Centro Cultural “Profe. Nestor Agundez.”

Cultural activities take place during the day all weekend, and at night all of town comes out to enjoy the festivities. The “midway” rides are setup up in the empty lot next to the Hotel California and on calle Morelos next to Galeria Logan. You catch a view of the whole fair from the top of the “rueda de fortuna” or ferris wheel.

Vendors from all over have booths lining the plaza and calle Juarez in front of the Hotel California and down Marquez de Leon selling trinkets, hand embroidered shirts, leather works, plastics, sweets, food…. you name it!

Live bands perform in the main plaza. Guys can buy a ribbon to dance, ladies dance free. Whole families line the plaza watching the dancers until 4 am. Mariachi roam the crowd and hang out in front of Mercado Siempre Vive singing their sad songs for few pesos.

Special events take place all weekend–the cabalgata on Sunday, horse races and even cock fights.

Come on out and enjoy a real Mexican fiesta! Viva Todos Santos!
