What to do, what to do. There’s lots to do and learn this week…
Chef Dany Lamote is holding a Cooking Class and Dinner at Serendipity this Thursday, December 2. The 5 course menu is a preview of the Baja / Mexican offerings from his new restaurant that will be opening soon. Come, have fun, learn more about cooking and/or invite a friend for dinner.

Also this Thursday, The ARTS second “Small Works Show” opening / Holiday Party is at Visions Gallery from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

National recognized painter Scott Mattlin is teaching a three day painting workshop at Galeria Logan starting December 3. A truly fun workshop for students of all levels!

Friday evening attend a Noche Mexicana supporting Todos Santos’ local CECYTE high school. The cultural evening of festivities including a buffet dinner, ballet folklorico and mariachi music. Celebrate the Bicentenario de la Independencia and the Centenario de la Revolucion Mexicana at the Centro Cultural starting at 5 p.m.

Artist N.E. Hayles’ opening of her show Passion, Poemas and 1000 Hearts is Saturday, December 4 from 4 to 7 p.m. at La Cañada del Diablo.

Saturday night support the Todos Santos Grupo Tortugas by attending dinner with the biologist at La Esquina. Biologist Roberto Rodriguez will present a slide show of our Sea Turtle conservation programs, plus a raffle, turtle t-shirts and cash bar.

Then break out those dancing shoes!
Guaycura Hotel is pleased to invite you to enjoy a great night listening the famous Group “Los Pulpos en su Tinta” playing Latin Rumba with guitarist David Flores.

Flashback will also be rocking the house at Hotel California from 8 to 11 p.m.

Manos Mexicanas

Manos Mexicanas, the Todos Santos collective of women who make beautiful handmade crafts and delicious goodies, is holding a raffle to auction the handmade quilt pictured below. You can buy raffle ticket at the El Tecolote bookstore in Todos Santos or the day of the raffle. The drawing will be held in the plaza in front of the church on Saturday, December 18. They will also be holding a Christmas crafts fair from 4 – 7 p.m. Buy a chance to win a one of kind quilt, shop for unique Christmas items, or just come by and enjoy the evening!

Live Music

The weather may be cooling off, but the live music scene is heating up in Todos Santos.

Bluez Explosion rocked the Hotel California this last Saturday. Look for them to return on Saturday, November 13.

This weekend, put on your costume and dance the night away.

Friday night, dance to reggae and ska with Hot Parrot at La Esquina at the 2nd annual Escuela Pacifica Halloween party. Escuela Pacifica will serve delicious Halloween eats and La Esquina will take care of your beverage needs. There will also be a haunted house and classic creepy movies for the kids.

Saturday night the Hotel California will host the Todos Santos Lifeguard group – PROPLAYAS Todos Santos – spooky Halloween fund raiser party. There’s bound to be lots of fun with live music, raffles, specials, and prizes for the best costume.

Pescadero will be rockin’ Saturday night at the Sandbar with live music, free appetizers, candy and drink prizes for the best costume.

What’s for dinner?

Todos Santos
Starting this Thursday, Mario’s Bar at Hotelito will be adding to Porfirio’s sushi menu. Also new: brochettas (satay) of either marinated chicken or arachera steak, with a peanut dipping sauce, rice and salad. Each week they will have a different special served on Friday and Saturday nights.

Michael’s at the Gallery will reopen in November, serving up gourmet Asian delicacies. Dinner reservations start at 6 p.m.

Suki’s Comida de Asia will reopen for the season at the end of November.

Or breakfast, or lunch… Pura Vida, our new health food store at El Molino, offers delicious breakfast options including: organic oatmeal, flourless sprouted French toast, organic Spanish egg scramble, yogurt/granola fruit plates or lunches like veggie paninis and fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce.

Pescadero
Rancho Pescadero has a new chef – Carolen Barrett from California – she cooked at Fog City Diner in San Francisco and The French Laundry in Yountville. They’ve also added a new garden kitchen (La Girasol) and dining room which will have prix fix dinners on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday using local and organic meats, seafood and produce. Reservations required. The regular restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner AND they’ve added a new bar with great ocean and sunset views.

La Paz
La Pazion at Hotel Mediterrane (on Allende, just up from the malecon) serves up eclectic cuisine including Italian and Asian appetizers, soups, main dishes and pizzas. Check out their menu at http://www.hotelmed.com
