Starting this Thursday, Mario’s Bar at Hotelito will be adding to Porfirio’s sushi menu. Also new: brochettas (satay) of either marinated chicken or arachera steak, with a peanut dipping sauce, rice and salad. Each week they will have a different special served on Friday and Saturday nights.

Michael’s at the Gallery will reopen in November, serving up gourmet Asian delicacies. Dinner reservations start at 6 p.m.

Suki’s Comida de Asia will reopen for the season at the end of November.

Or breakfast, or lunch… Pura Vida, our new health food store at El Molino, offers delicious breakfast options including: organic oatmeal, flourless sprouted French toast, organic Spanish egg scramble, yogurt/granola fruit plates or lunches like veggie paninis and fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce.

Pescadero
Rancho Pescadero has a new chef – Carolen Barrett from California – she cooked at Fog City Diner in San Francisco and The French Laundry in Yountville. They’ve also added a new garden kitchen (La Girasol) and dining room which will have prix fix dinners on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday using local and organic meats, seafood and produce. Reservations required. The regular restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner AND they’ve added a new bar with great ocean and sunset views.

La Paz
La Pazion at Hotel Mediterrane (on Allende, just up from the malecon) serves up eclectic cuisine including Italian and Asian appetizers, soups, main dishes and pizzas. Check out their menu at http://www.hotelmed.com

Happy Halloween

Are you ready for Halloween?

The second annual Escuela Pacifica Halloween Fundraiser will take place at La Esquina Friday, October 29 with live reggae, a Haunted House, kids games, classic creepy movies, and a Best Costume Contest for Kids and Adults. Kids and adult meals and beverages will be available for purchase.

Saturday, October 30 the Hotel California is hosting a Halloween party to support PROPLAYAS A.C. — Todos Santos’ new lifeguard (salvavida) group. Admission is free and the fun will include live music, prizes for best costumes.

Dharma Talks

Dharma Talks resume Sunday October 10th, 10 A.M.-11:30 A.M. This season marks the 10th year of talks offered by Robert K. Hall, M.D., psychiatrist and lay Buddhist priest. The talks are preceded by a period of guided meditation, with instructions in the Vipassana tradition. All are invited and everyone is welcome.
